Common Dental Emergencies We Treat
- Severe Toothache — A toothache that doesn’t go away may be caused by decay, infection or trauma. We’ll examine the tooth, take x-rays if needed and provide treatment such as fillings, root canal therapy or extraction to help relieve pain.
- Knocked-Out Tooth — If a permanent tooth has been knocked out, time is critical. Place the tooth in milk or back in the socket and get to us as quickly as possible. In many cases, we can re-implant and save the tooth if treated promptly.
- Broken or Chipped Tooth — A cracked or broken tooth can expose sensitive inner layers, causing pain or infection. Depending on the severity, we may recommend bonding, a crown or other restorative treatment.
- Lost Filling or Crown — While not always painful, a lost filling or crown leaves the tooth vulnerable. We’ll restore the area with a new filling or crown to help protect the tooth from further damage.
- Dental Abscess or Swelling — An abscess could be a serious infection that may need immediate attention. We’ll drain the infection, provide antibiotics if necessary and often perform root canal therapy to help save the tooth.
- Broken Dentures — If your dentures break or no longer fit properly, we’ll repair or adjust them to restore eating and speaking functions.
